And in true Meinert style, this wine is crafted to reflect not only the diverse terroirs with which we work, but also the passion, enthusiasm, and flare of those tasked with orchestrating their chorus’s.

Pristine fruit from our Elgin vineyards was transported in a refrigerated truck to our winery and every measure imaginable was employed to ensure minimal oxidation. One third of the batch was given 24 hours’ skin contact; a second portion crushed and pressed immediately and the third and final batch was whole-bunch pressed.
The juice was tank fermented at low temperature to retain vibrancy and freshness, with eight months post-fermentation lees contact at low temperature adding some richness and texture to the midpalate. As with most endeavors in life, a final touch is often necessary, this coming in the form of a dollop of Semillon and Old Vine Chenin Blanc.
The La Berry White evokes delicate nuances of elderflower fruit with underlying citrus and herbaceous, grassy notes supported by a vibrantly rich and textured midpalate making it the perfect stand alone or accompaniment with food.
As it ages mineral and flinty flavours come to the fore, so don’t drink all of it too young! Perfect as aperitif, or match with delicate dishes like fresh seafood salads, oysters and even tuna tartare with a very subtle wasabi sauce.
