Le Berry Red
2020
The Le Berry Red is crafted to reflect our philosophy of vine-for-vine and berry-by-berry, and thereby being an assemblage of the finest berries of the Cape Winelands.
And in true Meinert style, this wine is crafted to reflect not only the diverse terroirs with which we work, but also the passion, enthusiasm, and flare of those tasked with orchestrating their chorus’s.

Le Berry Red – a sumptuous blend of Merlot (70%); Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Petit Verdot (15%). After meticulous bunch and berry sorting, individual cultivars are vinified separately with fermentation taking place with natural (native) yeasts in stainless tanks.
Thereafter the individual component lots are matured in a selection of French oak barriques for up to two years. Once the individual components have been blended, the wine is lightly filtered prior bottling.
A generous wine that could easily be considered to be of Bordeaux origins, this classic blend offers generous flavours of red and black berries intertwined with juicy, supple tannins and an unparalleled elegance.
Perfect as an aperitif or match with dishes varying from fresh carpaccio to hearty meat dishes. I would even be daring enough to say it is the perfect way to end a busy week…
